I too have been an English teacher of the more at-risk young people. I've taught 6,500 of them in 23 years,I've barely retired at 69 and have listened countless times as a teenager to the catchy, deep words and felt the inner stir of emotions rise to the top of the Sound of Silence.

I loved hearing the story of how it came to be written..all sorts of composers and singers are putting their twist on how to sing it, more than ever before, even the Heavy Metal group I recently listened to and was dumbfounded by the emphasis on the riveting shocking messages so beautifully portrayed in the inspired writings of this work. Never before have these words been more real than today when we have "Neon Gods" like the Internet, tv, cell phones, ipods, ipads...."I" everything...and the deletion of God and Christ from Christmas and from hearts has never been in modern man so evident and yet...there are more people "awakening" to the realities of their freedoms being robbed right under their noses.

Yes...so many "talk and do not speak and hear but do not listen" and we have grown apart using man made devices to communicate words but it's our Hearts that need to share thier voices and no man-made device will work for that...only our spirits and souls in an earnest desire to share our feelings could ever consume our follies and begin the brilliant light spreading, healing from inside each of us wanting to unite and join as one voice to the unseed God who created us all! Let it begin right now!!!

Paige
Patriciahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12789075045324137372noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7394546787905483187.post-55770615573271333162011-08-07T22:41:31.841-05:002011-08-07T22:41:31.841-05:00I love what you have written here. I also believe that God speaks to man today as he did long ago, sometimes we are too caught up in the business of our lives to hear and feel what God is trying to tell us. I agree that many people who profess to be religious or followers of Christ are far too often caught 'bagging out' or degrading and criticizing others for their beliefs. I am religious but my church likes to think that all Christian faiths have at least a particle of truth in their teachings and we should look for the good in others and the common values we each hold. No slandering, criticizing, undermining and cursing people for their beliefs will ever bring people closer to the source of all truth, and uplift and edify as the true gospel of Christ should. Thank you for your thoughtful words. I thoroughly enjoyed the them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
